Yes, they are cozy but bigger than they look from outside -- large enough to have a couple of rooms with a bed, stove, toilet, the basics. There are whole colonies of them lining the canal, gathering and occasionally moving on. I'm not clear how they get mail, though -- maybe that's the point.

What happens to the household waste - to they remove it to another location?

That's a good question -- I would guess it works like that of an RV, but I've never looked into it.
